69% of women aged 50 – 59 and 12% of women aged 60 and over are in paid employment. This report by The Age and Employment Network (TAEN), explores the benefits of work for older women but also looks at the difficulties they may face such as low income, health risks and discrimination.

 

 

‘Not ready for the scrap heap’: Looking for work after 50.

A new report from Age Concern examines the experiences of people looking for work after 50. The report also looks at why people in this age group want to work and makes recommendations for the Government based on the participants’ responses.
