Hitting the Target

The Older and Bolder Project has been funded by the Welsh Assembly Government to carry out research into the factors that influence such older adults when they take that first step back into learning.

Under our Roof! - A CSHS/NIACE Dysgu Cymru Conference

5th November, Court Colman Manor
Pen-y-Fai, Bridgend,  CF31 4NG

Providers of sheltered and supported housing do far more than provide a roof. They have a unique opportunity to enrich the lives of their residents in so many ways. Engaging them in learning and other activities improves physical and mental well being, reduces social isolation and, for some, improves employability. This conference provides successful examples and straightforward practical ideas for involving residents in new activity and helping them to more fulfilled lives. Deputy Minister Gwenda Thomas AM will join us to give the keynote address, and set the context for the day.

Learning for Older People in Wales Conferences

NIACE Dysgu Cymru has recently held a series of three similar events around Wales aimed at bringing together professionals from across the disciplines to highlight the value of using learning as an intervention to improve the quality of life for older people in a range of settings.
